There are many opportunities in the distributed energy arena for innovation and improvement. Fontenergy serves as an incubator for new ideas and products aimed at saving carbon. In some cases, this results in the formation of new companies in order to attract investment and enable quickest possible deployment.
A selection of the most advanced projects is shown at the right.
Fontenergy have partnered with a large housing association to roll out a containerised biomass solution to sheltered housing schemes. Replacing ageing inefficiency plant, this "plant room in a box" includes high efficiency gas boilers, biomass boiler, pumps, controls and other equipment needed. Residents get the benefit of improved efficiency and reduced energy consumption while the RSL gets lower capital costs.
Fonten Solar produces prefabricated modular carports for low cost solar installations in countries where feed-in tariffs and good sun make PV a highly attractive option. Our carports are designed to be quickly installed, without the need for extensive foundation work - nor for planning permission. The integrated design maximises the feed-in tariff, and its modular form means it can be easily adapted to different sizes and shapes of real estate. Carpark owners do not make any capital contribution to the carport, nor are they responsible for operation and maintenance. Instead, they pay for the energy they use on a per unit basis. These businesses get the PR benefits of their visible commitment to the environment while paying no more for their energy.
